Jan 12, 2020  It's not clear why Apple decided to hide the user's Library folder, but you have multiple ways to get it back: two Apple provides (depending on the version of OS X you are using) and one in the underlying file system. The method you use depends on whether you want permanent access to the Library folder or only when you need to go there. Rejection For typical macOS applications the place for this kind of information is one of. /Library (for user-specific preferences/settings)and the folders beneath them (e.g. /Library (for system-wide preferences/settings valid for all users). Application Support and Preferences).They are saved as individual files, usually named so you can identify them and with a structure which is (at least most of the time) understandable by mere humans. /System/Library (for OS specific stuff).

    Hello everyone,
    So, we all know that you have to get to your minecraft folder to install mods, texture packs, get screenshots, backup worlds, but sometimes you can't seem to find your minecraft folder, right?
    Well no longer! In this tutorial, I will show you how to get to your minecraft folder on MAC. Let's get started!
    Here is how:
    First, open your finder
    Look at the bar at the top of your screen, the one that contains the apple logo and says 'Finder' next to it.
    If you look an that bar, you will find the 'Go' button, click it and then click 'Go to folder', located at the bottom.
    Type ~/Library and then click go, or hit the enter key on your keyboard.
    NOTE:
    The ~ sign is located above the tab button, press shift to use it!
    This will bring you to a list of folders, go ahead and open the 'Application Support' folder.
    This will open even more folders, one of them is the minecraft folder, open it.
    Done! You have now opened your minecraft folder! You can now proceed to download mods and other things you want to do!
    Read tutorials if you don't know how to download mods/backup worlds! You don't want to delete your world, or mess up you minecraft!

    I do have a mac.
    Does the technic launcher just fail to start? Does it give an error message? I have the technic launcher and I can run it perfectly, with the exception that it takes time to open the modpack (Tekkit, TheYogBox,etc..).

    Well, to tell you the truth, I don't know what to do..
    I do not have this problem with the technic pack, and I have not messed with java before.

    This feature is exclusive to Java Edition.

    .minecraft (or simply minecraft in macOS) is the folder Minecraft creates to run from. This folder includes the .jar files, sound, music, resource packs, personal options, worlds, etc.

    Locating .minecraft[edit]

    Locating the .minecraft folder can be vital for installing a resource pack, or to locate any made screenshots.

    Below is a table showing the default directory for .minecraft.

    The Windows location in the table above is just the default case. Launchers can set the .minecraft at any path.

    If you're a Windows user and are unfamiliar with how to find your appdata folder, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start → Run. If you don't see 'Run', press ⊞ Windows+R.
    2. Type %APPDATA%.minecraft and click 'OK'.

    If you're a Mac user, you can open the folder through Spotlight:
